Summary
At Gardiner & Theobald, Project Managers play a key role in the successful planning and delivery of construction and infrastructure projects. They coordinate project teams, manage programmes, facilitate effective communication and help guide projects from inception through to completion.

Project Managers work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and in line with client objectives. Effective stakeholder management, communication and risk management are central to the role.

Role Overview
As a Year Out Project Manager, you will join the first year of the G&T Accelerate Programme which combines real responsibility, expert mentoring and accredited training to help you start preparations towards Chartered membership of RICS. You will be working towards becoming a professional with expert knowledge of leading and managing a project team.

The role will be varied, and the actual experience gained will be dependent on the team and sector you are working in.

Working within a team, you will be assisting your line manager with various aspects of daily work. In this role you will be expected to work with a certain level of autonomy while also knowing when to discuss and ask questions to ensure the best outcome.

You will be building a solid knowledge base of your role, the firm and the industry, and how they all fit together.

General Responsibilities

In conjunction with your line manager, responsibilities will typically include:

Supporting the team in the preparation of project schedules and contract documentation.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation and records.
Attending site meetings, including design team meetings and contractor progress meetings, depending on the project stage.
Providing administrative support to Project Managers to enable the efficient and accurate delivery of project activities.
Developing an understanding of client requirements and contributing to the delivery of client-focused solutions.
Taking minutes and recording key actions during project meetings.
Supporting the preparation of performance reports, ranking reports and weekly progress updates.
Assisting with the collection, development and analysis of project data to support effective decision-making and goal setting.
Assisting in the development and implementation of action plans to support effective time, resource and process management.
Working closely with Project Managers to support the achievement of project objectives.
Liaising with project leads and other Project Managers to help maintain project programmes and overall project effectiveness.
Reviewing project progress and gathering data relating to project delivery and execution.
Coordinating with Project Managers and project leads throughout and following project execution.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Good A-Level grades, or an equivalent qualification.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively to deadlines.
Strong team-working skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
Excellent working knowledge of current IT systems and applications.
Understanding of the importance of client care and building strong professional relationships.
Trustworthy, reliable and professional in approach.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Proactive and adaptable, with a flexible approach to different situations.
Demonstrates dedication, commitment and a positive attitude.
Eagerness to learn and continually develop.
Genuine interest in the construction and property industry.
